Mobile Lattice Crawler Crane

The mobile lattice crawler crane is a generic crawler crane developed with performance metrics matching real cranes. The crane is configured with an 80-foot boom, a 34-ton counterweight, and a 110- ton maximum lift capacity. A load chart for the crane is included with the system.

The operator controls include a right console, left console, and virtual LMI.

Crane control right console:

  1. The right operator console includes the following:Crane operator joystick: By default this joystick is configured to operate the hoist. The operation can be easily reconfigured by the instructor. A thumper coil is included with this joystick.
  2. Crane On/Off: Pressing this button with turn the crane on or off.
  3. Horn: Pressing this button will sound the horn
  4. Armrest: An armrest is included with the right console and is adjustable in both height and position.

Crane control left console:

The left operator console includes the following:

  1. Crane operator joystick: By default this joystick is configured to operate the swing and the boom of the crane. The operation can be easily reconfigured by the instructor
  2. E-Stop: The E-stop button stops all movements of the crane, sets the brakes, and shuts off the crane engine. This button has a twist to release mechanism.
  3. Latch/Unlatch button: This button enables the operator to command a load to be rigged and attached to the crane hook providing the ability to have self paced exercises. When pressed the load is either attached or released from the crane hook
  4. Throttle lever: The throttle lever adjusted (raise or lower) the engine RPMs of the machine.
  5. Armrest: An armrest is included with the right console and is adjustable in both height and position.

Crane Control LMI:

The virtual LMI shows the following information to the operator.

  1. Boom Angle
  2. Tared weight on the hook.
  3. Engine RPM.
  4. Two-block alarm
  5. Boom limit alarm
