Situational Display

The Situational Display (SiD) or Birds-Eye Display provides a full joystick-controlled 3D view of the virtual training arena with the ability to insert multiple roving eye points (different multiple camera angles) anywhere in the scenario. The SiD is a robust tool that allows the instructor easy access for monitoring the student’s performance.

The Situational Display Joystick is used by the instructor to control the virtual SiD camera position and orientation (on the Situational Display). To better observe student actions, the instructor uses the joystick to place the eye point anywhere in the virtual scene. For quick reference, eight (8) separate predefined eye points can be placed at different areas. For a quick view, the instructor can easily toggle between each eye point placed in the training arena or use the dynamic control to fly around the training arena.
